How to Prepare Your Home for a Pressure Washing Appointment
You've booked your appointment — great. A little prep on your end means we can get straight to work, finish faster, and get better results. Here's exactly what to do before we arrive.
1. Close All Windows and Doors
This one's easy to forget. Even with soft washing, water and cleaning solution can find gaps around window frames and door seals. Walk the perimeter and make sure everything is shut tight — including garage doors and pet doors.
2. Move Vehicles Out of the Driveway
If we're cleaning your driveway, we need full access to it. Park on the street or in a neighbor's driveway for the morning. If we're only doing the house, moving the car away from the side of the home gives us better access to the siding and gutters.
3. Clear the Area Around the House
Move outdoor furniture, potted plants, doormats, kids' toys, and anything else sitting against the house or on the driveway. We'll protect your landscaping, but items directly against the siding can block our access and slow things down.
4. Locate Your Outdoor Spigot
We bring our own equipment, but we do need access to your outdoor water spigot. Make sure it's turned on and accessible. If it's hidden behind a bush or blocked by something, let us know ahead of time.
5. Secure Your Pets
The equipment is loud and the chemicals — while safe once dry — shouldn't be around pets during application. Keep dogs and cats inside for the duration of the job. We'll let you know when it's safe for them to go back outside.
6. Point Out Any Problem Areas
If you know there's a stubborn oil stain on the driveway, heavy algae on the north side of the house, or a section of fence that needs extra attention — tell us before we start. We'll pre-treat those areas and make sure they get the focus they need.
7. You Don't Need to Be Home
As long as we have water access and can reach all sides of the property, you don't need to be there. We'll send before and after photos when the job is done so you can see the results. If you do want to be home, that's great too — we're happy to walk you through what we did.
